PETER RUBIE: 
Mr. Rubie is the president of the Peter Rubie literary agency in New York City.  His creative career has spanned two decades as an author, teacher, and broadcaster.  Mr. Rubie regularly lectures and writes on the craft of writing fiction and non-fiction for magazines, publishers and universities.  Prior to becoming a literary agent he was an editor with Simon and Schuster.  He is an adjunct professor at New York University and is the Director of their Summer Publishing Institute.  He is currently working on a new novel.  www.prlit.com  

 

 

 

SHEILA HANAHAN: Ms. Hanahan is director of development for Zide/Perry Entertainment in Hollywood.  Her multi-faceted role includes developing ideas for spec scripts as well as seeking up-and-coming screenwriters.  A child actress in New York, Ms. Hanahan moved to L.A. to pursue a career working in the film industry.  Ms. Hanahan�s credits with Zide/Perry include, �American Pie I & II,� �Final Destination I & II.�  She has worked on such films as: �My Best Friend�s Wedding,� �Independence Day,� and �Lost In Space.�  www.inzide.com  

 

LARRY CAMPBELL: Mr. Campbell is the retired chief-coroner for Vancouver.  He has become a consultant/writer on the multi-Gemini Award winning CBC show �Da Vinci�s Inquest.�  Mr. Campbell will present his workshop with awarding winning (�Da Vinci�s Inquest�) screenwriter Frank Borg.  www.davincisinquest.com

 

MICHAEL KATZ: Mr. Katz is the publisher of Tradewind Books, a small independent children�s book publisher located in Vancouver.  He started the company in 1994 after teaching high school English in London, England for 20 years.  Mr. Katz teaches two courses at UBC Writing centre: �Children�s Book Workshop� for illustrators, writers and book designers as well as those interested in other aspects of publishing children�s books such as editorial or marketing.  Tradewind will publish its first novels for young adults in 2003. www.tradewindbooks.com
