PENTICTON WRITERS� CONFERENCE 2003
WRITING CONTEST RULES (READ CAREFULLY)
FIRST
PRIZE IN EACH CATEGORY:
�ONE
ON ONE� BREAKFAST WITH THE PRESENTER OF THAT GENRE.
- Writing
Contest is opened to all registrants who register (payment in full) for the
conference on or before AUGUST 15, 2003.
- Entrants
must attend the conference to be eligible.
- Each
entry should consist of a title page containing the author�s name,
address, phone number, email (if applicable), title of the work and
category. The author�s name should
not appear anywhere on the manuscript.
- Manuscripts
must be typed, double-spaced, on 8 � x 11 white paper using 12 points, 25
lines per page and with one inch margins.
- There
are 5 categories for the writing contest.
Categories are: FICTION, NON-FICTION, CHILDREN�S, SCREENPLAY, AND
POETRY.
- Submit
TWO copies of the FIRST FIVE PAGES of your fiction,
non-fiction or children�s story and TWO copies of a ONE PAGE
SYNOPSIS (single spaced).
- Submit
TWO copies of the FIRST FIVE PAGES (according to industry standards)
of your screenplay and TWO copies of a ONE PAGE SYNOPSIS
(single spaced).
- Submit
TWO copies of FIVE PAGES OF POETRY (one poem per page).
- Entry
must be an original, unpublished and/or un-produced submission that had not
been submitted to our contest before.
- Entry
must not exceed the page limit, as this will cause disqualification.
- Only
one entry per registration. Registrants
may enter more than one category but there will be an extra $25.00 fee for
each category.
REMINDER:
*Entries must be postmarked by August 15, 2003
*Where
applicable, finalists will be judged by presenters.
*Any
category with less than FIVE entries will be eliminated and entrant will
be notified.
*All
manuscripts will be returned. These
may be collected at the end of the conference.
