| kc dyer was born in Calgary, and after a peripatetic decade or two now lives with her children (and other animals) north of Vancouver, British Columbia, where she works as a freelance writer, speaker and conference coordinator for the Surrey International Writers’ Conference. The author of a number of books for young adults that are published in North America and the UK, kc has a secret fondness for inducing nausea in teens and can often be found sharing some of the greatest grotesque moments in history with large groups of high school students. Unable to see the folly of her ways, kc continues to write and most days can be found sitting at her desk, surfing the time-space continuum searching for the perfect word… Author of A Walk Through A Window (2009), Ms Zephyr's Notebook (2007) & the Eagle Glen Trilogy (2002-5) www.kcdyer.com |

| Growing up on a farm, Lee Edward Födi was subjected to various horrible chores such as cleaning up after chickens, pigs, geese, and younger siblings. He continually craved adventure and often found himself searching between the cracks of here and there in hopes of discovering an enchanted world populated with magical creatures, talking animals, and other creatures of faerie. Several years later, he had the stroke of good fortune to stumble upon the secret Land of Een and now he is most pleased to have the official title as chronicler of the adventures of Kendra Kandlestar. When he is not chronicling, "Mr. Wiz" (as he is so often called) spends his time speaking at schools or helping kids sculpt their own stories through creative writing workshops. He enjoys traveling, and especially exploring castles, mazes, tombs, and temples around the world – not to mention tiny places hidden between the cracks of here and there. Find out more at his websites, www.kendrakandlestar.com and www.leefodi.com. | |
| Growing up on the icy plains of Manitoba, James McCann spent most of his time as a teen reading comics and playing Dungeons and Dragons. Both of these hobbies taught him his storytelling tools that he now uses as an author and creative writing instructor. He is the author of Rancour (first released in 2005 with a second edition due in 2009), Pyre (2007, also due with a second edition due 2009), and Dawn (Summer 2009). Before turning to mentoring youth in creative writing, he worked as a bookseller in various children’s bookstores for nearly a decade. And unlike the creatures of the night of which he writes, he lives peacefully in the daylight with his Shih Tzu, Conan. Ever wonder how comics get made? Do you have very little artistic ability, but would still love to create your own comic? Or are you a budding artist, but just don't know how to go from idea to paper? James McCann has been reading comics since he was first able to sound out words, and has never lost his love for them. Now, he is working to turn his successful series into graphic novels - and will show you how to do the same with your ideas. From idea to comic, artisitic ability or not, you will learn the inner workings of the graphic novel. Visit James' website. |
